Gas Cycling & Flaring Elimination Initiative
Tomskneft pioneered the industrial deployment of closed-loop gas cycling in the regional petroleum sector. By collecting associated petroleum gas that was traditionally burned in field flares, the system extracts high-value natural gas liquids and reinjects dry methane under high pressure back into the formation.
This continuous process sustains reservoir energy, prolongs field productivity, and prevents tens of thousands of metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually, directly supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Technical Highlights & Milestones:
- Pioneered gas cycling in regional extraction basins
- Significant reduction in carbon and nitrogen oxide emissions
- Full alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action)
- Conservation of billions of cubic meters of natural gas
Managing corrosive sour gas components at ultra-high injection pressures while balancing gas plant compression ratios.
Engineered corrosion-resistant nickel-alloy compressor trains and molecular sieve dehydration beds, enabling 99.4% associated gas utilization efficiency.
