Euro-5 Refinery Modernization Program
This landmark technological transformation fulfilled obligations under the quadripartite industrial agreement, completely converting Tomskneft Refinery's fuel production slate to European Euro-5 environmental standards.
The plant commissioned high-technology installations including the modern ED-AV-6 primary distillation unit, catalytic reforming, gradual coking, and a catalytic cracker. In addition, alkali fuel cleaning technology was licensed from Merichem Company, enabling production of world-standard naphthenic acid feedstock and ultra-pure fuels.
Technical Highlights & Milestones:
- 100% transition to Euro-5 motor fuels
- Production of 2,000,000 tons of ultra-clean diesel annually
- 1,100,500 tons of high-octane A-92 and A-98 gasolines
- Merichem licensed alkali extraction systems
Reconfiguring continuous refining units without shutting down domestic fuel supply, while simultaneously reducing sulfur content below 10 ppm.
Staged unit turnarounds, advanced deep hydro-desulfurization catalyst loading, and automated in-line blending systems delivered seamless compliance with Euro-5, ASTM, and GOST technical regulations.
